What is a partial denture or complete denture?

 

A partial denture is a removable dental appliance use to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They are fabricated to closely resemble your natural teeth and can enhance your smile. Dentures also provide support to surrounding facial muscles and prevent them from sagging.


There are two different types of dentures - complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing either in the upper jaw, lower jaw or both, while partial dentures are used to replace a few missing teeth. A Partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from moving into the gap and creating bite problems.


Conventional dentures are fabricated based on a metal frame and are rigid, they contain visible metal clasps to anchor to your existing teeth.

Complete Dentures with Extractions

dental work in mexico, full dentures in mexico, partial dentures in mexico, dental care in mexico, mexico dental.If you need to have dentures (either top, bottom or both) and at the same time you need to have some or all of your teeth extracted due to severe gum disease, generalized infection, bone structure loss, or any other valid reason, we will be able to take impressions, run fittings and fabricate your denture(s), so they will be ready before your teeth are extracted. Next, we will extract your teeth and fit the denture(s) in, right away. This procedure is called immediate prosthesis. If you decide to have your denture(s) done this way, (recommended), you will not have to be without teeth any single day. In the following two or three months after the teeth are extracted and due to the normal gum shrinkage, you may need to have a  temporary reline, which is the correction of the inside part of the denture(s) so they will be adjusted to the new shape of your gums. About six months after the extractions, when your gums will be permanently healed and shaped, you will need a rebase, it means, we will make new denture(s), for you, using the same teeth, but replacing the whole pink material (base). It will be like having a brand new denture(s). This rebase will have a cost of $80.00 U.S. Dollars per plate.
